"A Rare Offering"

Home From the Sea, the Sealers Memorial in Elliston, commissioned Gerald Squires to create a piece to commemorate the 100-year anniversary of the 1914 Newfoundland Sealing Disaster.

The result was this beautiful limited edition lithograph, "The Ice Hunter," which captures the dignity and courage of the Newfoundland sealer in the harsh environment which is the sealing industry.

As of April 23, 2014, only 9 of the 50 lithographs available for purchase remained. For more information on this work or to learn more about Newfoundland's sealing history, please visit Home From the Sea.
